Position Summary:
Under the clinical direction of the physician, the medical assistant in the ambulatory practice functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary health care team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient. Assists in scheduling activities of medical assistants and with monitoring compliance with department policies and procedures.
Education:
High School degree or GED equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program or five or more years of specific applicable primary medical care MA experience may be substituted for formal training.
Work Experience:
Three years experience in a medical practice setting is preferred.
Shift:
Day/Even, Full-time (40 hours)
8:30 am-5:30pm

Required Licensure, Certification:
Successful completion of the medical assistant certification exam (CMA, RMA, NCMA or NRCMA) required at hire or within 3 months of hire. MA certification must be maintained according to the certifying agency’s recertification schedule for the duration of employment. Valid CPR certification required upon hire. Recertification required every two years.
