Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, integrity and data quality of the Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute (NZTI) in support of strict reporting requirements. This includes ongoing analysis of health care information, obtained from a variety of sources, including patient care, financial, and demographic data. It involves development and preparation of information products for transplant leadership, physicians and staff, including the assembly of documentation required for submission to regulatory agencies. It requires the ability to analyze health care data from conceptualization through presentation of the data. It requires proficiency with analytical tools (SAS, Excel), knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service.

Essential Functions:

The Data Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data.

* Works with customers to develop and understand product specifications.

* Develops methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data products.

* Delivers data products in report/presentation format, or verbally, to customer specifications and timelines.

* Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing customer requests.

* Develop information from a variety of data sources evaluates data.


Reports to the Director of Research Administration and NZTI Quality.

Required Physical Demands (Subject to Reasonable Accommodation):

Keyboarding/Dexterity: Frequently; activity exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time

Standing/Walking: Occasionally; activity exists up to 1/3 of the time

Strength (Lift/Carry/Push/Pull): Sedentary (exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally)

* Bachelors degree with 2 years of experience or an Associate degree with 4 years of experience specifically involving data analysis, quality assurance, and support.

* Masters degree in relevant discipline may substitute for experience.

* Healthcare experience preferred.

* Training and experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, and SAS preferred.

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written).
