Senior Resident Assistant
How you will serve our residents and our community:
- Consistently and genuinely demonstrates the STARS principles of Service, Teamwork, Action, Reputation and Success in all activities and interactions.
- Supervises Resident Assistants and assigns shift duties – when applicable.
- Fills in for shift call-outs.
- Assists residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility in accordance with the Resident Service Plan.
- Administers medications as required in compliance with state specific regulations pertaining to medication technicians.
- Spot checks Medication, Treatment and Service plan sign-off sheets for accuracy and complete documentation.
- Monitors the health, safety and well-being of all residents, documents information pertaining to changes in residents' functional status and personal needs on the 24 hour shift report.
- Assists in the development and updating of each Resident Service Plan. Attends Service Plan meetings when applicable.
- Observes residents for changes in physical and/or behavioral conditions and timely communicates observations to the Resident or Health Services Director.
- Contacts EMS (911) for resident emergencies and coordinates documents for transfer.

Encourages resident participation in scheduled programs and activities.

Conducts one on one or small group activities as assigned by supervisor in conjunction with the Vibrant Living Director.
- Participates in and attends all required in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
- May oversee continence management program and other ancillary supply purchasing, storage and delivery.
- Attends safety committee when applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
With our residents in mind, the right candidate will have:
- First Aid and CPR certified.
- Certified in medication administration per state specific requirements.
- Certified as Certified Nursing Assistant where required by state regulations.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to take a lead role; set positive role image and mentor associates as needed.
- Strong customer orientation to older adults.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm and energy.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
