WHAT IS WHYHOTEL?
WhyHotel is a venture-capital backed, DC-based startup that operates " turn-key, pop-up hotels " in newly built, vacant luxury apartments during their lease-up phase. Blurring the line between hospitality and home , our model provides the value and space of a home-share with the consistency of a luxury hotel. Thanks to WhyHotel, real estate developers now have a new way to leverage vacant units during lease-up and you have a new way to travel. In addition, our new business arm, Hospitality Living , will deliver the first of its kind ground-up, flexible use buildings, targeted to launch in 2022.

YOUR MISSION
As the Housekeeping Team Lead, you'll drive the turnover and quality of our guest rooms. You will oversee the Housekeeping Team (third party contractors) and ensure each room is clean, fully stocked and ready to wow the next guest who stays in it. You will work closely with the Assistant General Manager (AGM) to build a culture that is rich with inclusion, support, communication, accountability, engagement and world class service. Through a close-knit working relationship with your team, everyone will pay attention to details while keeping the bigger picture in mind. You will set the example for future hotel operations nationwide.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
First 30 Days of Operation:

    -Have a strong attention to detail to increase the quality of the rooms which will lead to increased guest satisfaction, strong team engagement and overall revenue growth.
    -Become an expert on your hotel and the building as a whole to help solve problems with creative solutions.
    -Work with the AGM to create a team that promotes teamwork and collaboration to ensure retention and a positive culture.
    -Familiarize yourself with the back of house budget and identify potential savings while not sacrificing quality, service and room satisfaction.

First 60 Days of Operation:

    -Prep the rooms so that they meet our WhyHotel standards which includes owning the quality of room turns, timing of availability and the number of rooms ready.
    -Ensure the appropriate level of coverage to be within budget while not impacting the quality of service.
    -Build a strong working relationship with your team by providing real time feedback regarding their performance and metrics.
    -Drive initiatives to positively impact occupancy by converting positive guest feedback into online reviews to help build brand loyalty.

Ongoing:

    -Take full ownership of the quality of our rooms to achieve a high level of consistent service to meet and exceed guest expectations and WhyHotel's brand standards.
    -Maintain an average online customer satisfaction rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars (or equivalent) with a minimum of 15 reviews, including mentions of room quality and team member names in the reviews.
    -Consistently improve WhyHotel's net promoter score (NPS).
    -Achieve an employee engagement rating of eight or higher.
    -Create a culture consistent with WhyHotel's core values and world class quality of service.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Salary: Varies by experience and location. Please be sure to tell us your salary expectations when filling out the application.
Benefits and Perks: We offer medical and dental coverage along with additional voluntary benefits. A 401(k) plan after six months with company match up to 4%. Monthly transportation/commuter stipend. You will also receive shares of the company after your first quarter.
Location: Because our hotels are pop-up, once your location winds down, our hope is to offer you a position at another one of our hotels.
Manager: You will report to the Assistant General Manager of the hotel.
