Job Description

Assistant Director of Housekeeping

Luxury hotel in Washington DC is searching for a dynamic and experienced Assistant Executive Housekeeper to direct and coordinate all functions of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments. We are looking for a candidate with a proven record of guest service and management experience within a luxury hotel environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    -Provide strong leadership supporting a highly motivated and trained staff following the lead and direction of the Executive Housekeeper.
    -Respond to and follow through on guest requests, concerns and problems. Ensure that excellent customer service is a hallmark of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.
    -Maintain or exceed standards of cleanliness and a consistently positive guest experience
    -Manage staff through interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, development, empowerment, coaching and counseling of staff.
    -Manage outside vendors and inspect and monitor work of contracted labor.
    -Supervise and conduct daily detailed inspection of guest rooms, public areas and back of the House.
    -Recommend special activities, promotions or procedures to meet competition, increase business or improve services as well as changes/ innovations.
    -Assist with scheduling and payroll
