Medical Assistant Trainer/Preceptor

OnPoint Medical Group is looking for an MA Trainer/Preceptor to join the team!
This position will travel bewtween clinics but will based out of the corporate office in Highlands Ranch.
OnPoint Medical is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant Preceptor/Trainer to join the team. Candidates for this role will work Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday responsibilities. Hours will vary between 7AM and 6PM. The MA Preceptor/Trainer is responsible to coordinate the educational and training processes for OMG Medical Assistants. This position is responsible for Medical Assistant new-employee orientation, preparation of training materials, coordination of staff training, and skills evaluation of OMG Medical Assistants. The Preceptor/Trainer demonstrates strong leadership skills and directs employee productivity through training and education.  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWINGThe following statements are illustrative of the essential duties of the job and do not include other nonessential or peripheral duties that may be required. 1.Trains and educates current and new Medical Assistants on clinical and administrative work flow processes. 2.Work with team to map out training plans, design and develop training programs3.Ability to choose appropriate training methods (mentoring, on the job training)4.Conduct training with all new medical assistants during new hire orientation, and onsite clinical education and evaluation.5.Demonstrates competency and professional responsibility in the medical assistant role6.Keep accurate records of all training7.Creates action plans based on constructive performance evaluations – staff development8.Demonstrates a working knowledge of clinical protocols in multispecialty clinics9.Maintains positive public relations image with peers, patients and visitors by presenting a positive, helpful attitude10.Maintains a neat, clean and functional work station11.Demonstrates competency in OSHA, Infection Control, HIPAA and safety standards12.Completes required certifications; becomes proficient in clinic systems and procedures, and maintains knowledge in all policies, practices and procedures.13.Maintains certifications per state and company guidelines14.Follows all OSHA standards, policies and procedures15.Follows all HIPAA standards, policies and procedures16.Performs duties to achieve or exceed established service standards.

QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this job. Minimum Education/Experience•Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) Program and/or Practical Nurse Program.•Maintain certifications per state and company guidelines•Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) strongly preferred •Strong computer skills required. EMR experience preferred •3– 5 years of MA experience required •Current CPR card
Current Drivers Lisense and Auto insurance required.

Preferred Education/Experience•3-5 years of experience in OB/GYN or Family•IV Certification•Athenahealth practice management system•Previous experience in Medical Assistant Training strongly preferred
CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE•Provide customer service in accordance to clinic mission•Demonstrate ability to be courteous and respectful when interacting with patients and family members•Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements•Enact proper chain of command for patient complaints
LANGUAGE SKILLS •Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations•Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and the general public
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS •Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals•Ability to compute and teach clinical calculations for medication administration  •Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY •Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions•Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
APTITUDES AND TEMPERAMENTS REQUIRED•Must have a high level of energy with the ability to adjust to any justifiable pace.  •Make decisions based more on fact than feeling  •Exhibit behavior which emphasizes compassion, quality, loyalty and conscientiousness •Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families and staff members
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities
