Job Description

Certified Medical Assistant

Dermatology office seeks smiling energetic team players for growing office. Medical Assistants must be able to scribe effectively and accurately for providers during exam and have excellent spelling. Must also be EMR friendlyand possess strong patient skills, "fast learner" who can multi-task efficiently w/ high volume & great attitude in a fast paced environment. Requires strong attendance and punctuality. Previous experience preferred with Dermatology, MOHS, or Plastic Surgery. Immediate availability for full time position.Job Purpose Medical Assistant:Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.Duties:* Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.* Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking and reporting patient history summary.* Scribes for provider in room during exam and accurately lists descriptions, locations, treatment plans and mole/lesion mapping.* Saves time by helping with office procedures like biopsies, excisions, hyfercation, cryotherapy, suture removal and acne surgery.* Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.* Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about surgery and triaging urgent care requests.* Relays patient lab and pathology results with further instructions for care as needed.* Schedules surgeries by verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission and consent forms.* Provides patient information about all dermatologic conditions and provides post operative wound care information.* Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.* Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.* Serves and protects the dermatology practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
