Our Santa Rosa Round Barn Oncology clinic is seeking aMedical Assistant to join our established team of caregivers!**
**_The MedicalAssistant will be responsible for assisting the physicians with all generalmedicine or specialized medical practice duties. This position will providesupport to the physicians in the back office, rooming patients, etc., as wellas overseeing documentation and follow up at the front office._**
**Essential Functions:**
+ Assistswith patient phone messages/tasks and documents in EMR. Conducts callbacks perprovider instruction in an efficient and timely manner, while maintainingproper telephone etiquette.
+ Roomspatients utilizing best practice MA workflow and maintains patient flow perschedule.
+ Documentspatient information collected, care given and treatment provided as well ascharges in a clear and concise manner in EMR.
+ Anticipatespatient care needs and consults with provider as needed.
+ Adheresto all safety standards, including but not limited to, equipment maintenance,infection control, universal precautions and use of personal protectiveequipment as needed for all patient-care procedures.
+ Maintainscurrent knowledge of SJHMG clinical policies and procedures.
+ Organizes,stocks (using a PAR & trigger system) and maintains an orderly, clean anduncluttered work area, including but not limited to exam rooms, procedure roomsand patient care areas
+ Assistswith procedures and administers medications within the MA scope of practice andper provider orders.
+ Maintainscurrent knowledge of medications, waste disposal and sterile techniques.
+ Attendsand actively participates in mandatory clinical/business departmentmeetings/in-services, staff meetings and assigned committees.
+ MaintainsCPR and other appropriate certifications
+ Respondsto and participates in all medical emergencies and codes.
**Minimum Position Qualifications:**
+ Graduateof a State recognized vocational school or equivalent.
+ MAcertificate
+ CurrentCPR (BLS) certificate
**Experience:** Entry level with less than 2 years'
experience as a Back Office Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care facility or
medical group practice.
**Computer Skills:** Basic computer skills
including Microsoft Word, Windows and an e-mail system.
**Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:**
+ Highlevel of customer service skills with a genuine caring approach to helpingpeople.
+ Maintainsa positive attitude with changing conditions.
+ Goodorganizational abilities.
+ Requiresgood written and verbal communications skills to communicate effectively withindividuals at all levels of the organization.
+ Mustbe able to work under general supervision.
+ Musthave a professional and mature demeanor.
+ Mustbe able to work in a fast-paced department and handle multiple tasks, work withinterruptions, and deal effectively with confidential information.
**Preferred Position Additional Qualifications:**
**Computer Skills:** EMR and/or IDX
experience preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills a plus.
