The Medical Assistant works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant fall into three categories; Direct Patient Care, Provider & Team Support, and Clinical Administration. Examples of Direct Patient Care include, but are not limited to, taking vital signs, obtaining intake information, vaccines, ear lavages, and stocking exam rooms. Examples of Provider & Team Support include, but are not limited to, ensuring provider has all pertinent information required for each patient and coordinating workflow to ensure efficient patient care. Examples of Clinical Administration include, but are not limited to, utilizing electronic health records, conveying information to patient via telephone or email, and providing requested documents to patients after review for accuracy and completeness.
Requirement: Must have their own watch with a second hand to count the pulse rate per minute and the respiratory rate per minute. Must wear the watch at all times while working.
Education: High School Diploma or GED. MA Certificate from an accredited program. Current BLS certification (CPR) required
Skills: Familiarity with medical procedures, terminology, and electronic health records systems. Intermediate computer and data entry skills. Flexibility with changing priorities and multiple time sensitive deadlines. Compassion & cultural intelligence to provide appropriate communication and patient care. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Experience: Minimum one year experience
