Job Description

We are looking for a Full Time, experienced and highly motivated Medical Assistant for our Panama City office with travel to Mobile, AL. Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday's. Experience with EKG'S, Vital signs, Pulmonary Function Testing, Venipuncture and Computers including internet, email and Word is preferred. Spanish speaking a plus.
Specific duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:1. Observe and uphold a standard of absolute confidentiality regarding the personal information of IMA's clients, and all corporate data that may be disclosed as a necessary part of the employee's work function.2. Knowledge of phlebotomy and EKG; assisting physician as needed.3. Keep constant awareness of the day's schedule and the necessity for efficient operation.4. Ability to work with difficult claimants utilizing calmness, consideration, compassion and respect.5. Assist the physician in any way asked, keeping in mind IMA procedures.6. If assigned, do month-end reports such as the Banyan kit report and make sure reports are scanned and emailed to the appropriate people.7. If assigned, place order to replenish 60-day-to-expiration meds in the Banyan kit.8. Make sure the office is always stocked with necessary medical supplies and gowns.9. Remain in the office until the last medical claimant is gone.10. Perform other related duties as assigned.11. Work overtime as required.
EDUCATIONRequired: High School with formal Medical Assistant's trainingPreferred: Certified Medical Assistant's training or Associates degreeEXPERIENCERequired: One year as a medical assistantPreferred: Two to three years as a medical assistant in an occupational health setting; bilingual. Knowledge of ancillary testing procedures such as Pulmonary Function Test, Doppler, cardiac stress testing.QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to:• Work with flexibility and respect for co-workers and claimants• Work with confidential information• Work independently and in a team environment• Be organized and efficient• Ability to prioritize and manage workloads and deadlines• Excellent problem solving skills• Self Starter• Handle telephone conversations in a courteous and business-like manner• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers• Be resourceful and creative• Be tactful, diplomatic, mature and flexible• Knowledge of computer softwareESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to:• Receive detailed information through oral and written communication• Meet stringent deadlines• Access, input and retrieve information from computer• Understand and interpret written reports• Sit and/or stand 6-8 hours per day• Able to lift and/or carry 10-25 pounds occasionally• Substantially move wrists, hands and fingersThe above list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
