**We are looking for a Medical Assistant (NUHW - National Union of Healthcare Workers) for our Urgent Care facility at St. Joseph Health!**
**Location:** Rohnert Park, CA
**Shift:** 10-hour, Day
Under the general supervision of the Urgent Care Director and Medical Director, this position's primary job function is to assist the provider (physician/nurse practitioner) in providing patient care demonstrating our core values. The Medical Assistant will function within the appropriate scope of practice.
+ Assist with procedures and administers medications within the MA scope of practice per provider orders.
+ Performs assigned tasks appropriately and completely. Gives appropriate patient care, sets up procedures correctly, obtains complete patient information data (chief complaint/vital signs/allergies/medication updates/etc.), anticipates needs and assists providers appropriately.
+ Meets compliance standards for documentation. Documentation is pertinent, complete and legible.
+ Instructs patients/family/significant others in test requirements and physician orders.
+ Maintains a clean, functional work environment to include housekeeping, log maintenance and accurate supply par levels.
+ Processes patient billing information to complete patient record, as needed.
+ Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting room and equipment after procedures.

+ Demonstrates initiative for self-improvement and completes required competencies.
+ Knowledge of basic computer skills in a Windows operating environment including Word and an e-mail system.
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Requires completion of a Medical Assistant program.
**License / Certification:**
+ Current BCLS (CPR) card.
**Preferred Position Qualifications:**
+ Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care and/or medical group setting highly preferred.
+ Two (2) years of work experience as a Medical Assistant EMR experience preferred.
+ Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.
