Reproductive Science Center of the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (Full-time, 40 hours/week with weekend and holiday rotations) to join our team in our Los Gatos location. This special candidate will present with at least 1 year of medical office experience in a busy multiple doctor healthcare setting. Candidate must demonstrate multi-tasking skills in a high volume practice with a commitment to teamwork. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and demands, on time and in a calm manner. This is a Full time benefited position.
+ Performs routine patient data collection including - height, weight, vital signs, waist circumference, determination of BMI, and current medication list
+ Rooms patients, including endocrine/ultrasound patients to facilitate patient flow.
+ Ensures that examine rooms are ready to receive patients at the start of the day by turning on ultrasound, preparing exam table, and turning on all necessary equipment at the start of the day.
+ Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations when assisting providers.
+ Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
+ Reviews daily schedules for all providers and patients in AW's Today's Schedule (TS).
+ Input names on ultrasound for general and obstetric patients once patient is in the room.
+ Prepares paperwork for HSG, pre-operative visits, New Patient Visits (NPV), etc. as needed.
+ Sets up and gathers equipment and supplies for various procedures to include but not limited to general ultrasound, saline sonogram, uterine sounding, IUI, etc.
+ Washes, packs as needed and autoclaves instruments. High level disinfection for ultrasound probes according to the infection control policies and manufacturer's guidelines.
+ Ensures that end of the day tasks are done to include exam rooms cleaned (including counters and exam table), restocking supplies/equipment, and turning off all necessary equipment at the end of the day.
+ Documents patient care by charting accurately, completely, and in a timely manner in EMR.
+ Assisting providers with procedures, and other duties as needed
+ Supports the providers to resolve patient problems and needs by using multi-disciplinary team strategies.
+ Establishes a compassionate environment by providing excellent customer service, anticipating anxieties, answering questions, and providing support.
+ Ordering of supplies on weekly or as needed basis, including outside lab kits.
+ Tracks and allocates invoices and ensures signature of Director of Operations in place before forwarding to Executive Director.
+ High School Diploma
+ Completion of an accredited program for medical assistants with certificate
+ 1 year medical office experience in a healthcare setting, Ob-Gyn preferred.
+ CPR certification must be current
+ Excellent internal and external customer service
+ Ability to work with diverse patient population.
+ Ability to travel between local offices
+ Able to work rotation of weekends and holidays as scheduled
+ Team player
+ Experience with computerized scheduling and electronic medical records
+ Phlebotomy experience preferred
+ Spanish speaking a PLUS
